airplane, iPhone, ipod, ipod touch, mp3, walkman | Add comments LoadingAdd to favorites

So flying back from San Antonio..this time I never heard the flight attendants say anything about “Airplane Mode”, but I did here the following, “Once in flight the use of approved electronic devices maybe be used, this includes, Walkmans, computers, MP3 players and iPods”, so this sounds like a normal announcement right but isn’t an iPod a MP3 player. So I was thinking, is the iPod so popular now that it is in it’s own category. This must be the case. The next question is, is this what Steve and Apple as a company wanted to happen. Honestly, being a former Apple employee I would have to say yes. The iPod has out grown the MP3 phase. It not only can play MP3s but movies, Video Podcasts, audio books, it has games you can play on it, you can reference notes and store contacts on it. If you have a iPod Touch, you can create calendar events, create contacts, create notes, and soon in June much more. Wow, Apple has truly changed the way we look at the normal every day MP3 player. So I would have to say that the iPod like the new SUV crossovers which also has their own classifications, now has been classified as a “iPod”… So I wonder, is the iPhone not classified as a cell phone, because it has all the ability of a iPod, and a Phone…so the iPhone is a iPhone… Got to love Apple, I know I do!!!!

dude – you were in SAT and you didn’t drop me a line? We’re down there visiting the in-laws pretty often. Heh. Next time, come to Austin and go visit the Apple offices here. I’ll take you out for some good tex-mex food…
