Issue: When running Mac OS X 10.5.3 or higher, there is a new version of the Common Access Card (CAC) that the Mac will not see. There is an identifier on the back of the CAC that should say “Oberthur”.
**Note: Make sure you are using SCR 331 readers with the latest firmware or a compatible CCID reader. I have both a SCR 331 and a GEM Plus Twin.
Solution: You will need a special download that can be found on Apple’s Fed-talk mailing list board.

Actually according to the Apple macosforge web site, “Oberthur ID One 128 v5.5 cards are not yet supported” by Apple.
