Now that the iPhone works with Microsoft Exchange, a lot of people have added iPhones to their Corporate Exchange Account.  ActiveSync works well and most of the time setup is very easy.  Here is something to think about.  You bought the first generation iPhone, updated to 2.0 when it came out and setup your Corporate Exchange account on the iPhone.  You decided to purchase a new 3G iPhone.  You set up your new 3G iPhone to access your Corporate Exchange account…Did you know that your old first generation iPhone is still attached to your Corporate Exchange account.  So, the question is how do you unlink your first generation iPhone from Exchange?

Step 1: log in to your Corporate Exchange account
Step 2: Click on “Options” on the top right

Step 3: Click on “Mobile Devices” on the left side bar

You will now see a list of devices associated with your Corporate Exchange Account.
Step 4: Click on your first generation iPhone then click “Remove Device from List…
The iPhone will not be removed. It will not effect any other device associated with your account. You can also remove other devices that maybe be associated with your account also?

** You can also have your Exchange Administrator do this inside his Console on the Exchange Server.  He will need the serial number of your unit since that is what he will see in his settings.

Here are some screen shots of what you should see in the Exchange console.
