Calling all Hotmail/MSN and Windows Live mail users…iPhone App

App Store, Apple, Microsoft | No Comments »

mBoxMail
If you are like most Window users that have an iPhone you want the ability to get your Hotmail/MSN or Windows live email since the native Mail.app on the iPhone only handles all the other popular eMail services (I wonder why!?!?).  You are in luck.  I have found a nice iPhone App that help you out with this.  I’ve been using mBoxMail - Hotmail & Windows Live Mail® so far the only real issue I have is that I can only have one email setup at a time.  Besides that, this is a very solid program.  Below are a few specs…enjoy!  Here are the features that m•Box Mail gives you:

Easy Startup

Just enter your Windows Live Hotmail address and your password to start using m•Box Mail. You have the ability to choose how many email bodies are available on the device through easy-to-use m•Box Mail settings found in the iPhone settings. This means you can view 25 messages or 200 at a time.

Sync your Hotmail and Live Mail

Sync your Microsoft Hotmail or Live Mail to iPhone, including all the read and unread flags. All your folders also are available through m•Box Mail so you can stay organized even while on the go.

Hotmail Contacts

All your Hotmail contacts are available so addressing an email from your iPhone is now as easy as doing it from your computer.

Fast and Efficient
m•Box Mail is highly optimized for mobile platforms so access to your email is the best possible experience. For example, you will be amazed at how fast your email is synced onto your iPhone.

Send from Hotmail

m•Box Mail supports sending email from your Hotmail account. Your signature also can be customized on your iPhone for outgoing messages, and you can edit your sent messages folder – keep email for review or delete them as wanted.

Attachments

View emailed image attachments right on your iPhone.

Security

In today’s world, your information is only as secure as your email account. There is no middle man with m•Box Mail. This application speaks directly to the Windows Live Hotmail servers so you do not have to worry about your confidential information getting stored elsewhere. Your email, user name and password are not stored outside your mobile device. Passwords are securely kept in iPhone’s key store so they do not get into the wrong hands.

MobileMe changed login page?!?!

Apple, MobileMe | 2 Comments »

mobileme_logoApple is at it again.  This morning at around 8 est; The MobileMe website started to be a little squarely.  When I refreshed my Safari I noticed a new login page.  I like the old one a little better, it was simple and that was the purpose, now you have a lot of dead space and NEWS.  So why do I need news on my MobileMe login page?  That is what the Apple Start page is for.  Below is the old and the new… what do you think??

GPS navigation for iPhone (G-Map)

Apple, iPhone, ipod touch | No Comments »

us westus eastThe GPS in my Jeep has gone “belly up” so I have been without a GPS.  Recently I have found a program that some say has slipped through the App Store cracks.  The program is G-Map and made by XROAD.  After reading the reviews I was a little skeptical about paying $20.00 for a iPhone App that would take up about 1GB of space.  I took the plunge and do not regret it at all.  Best twenty dollars I have spent in a long time.  Even better is that they use the same maps as my factory GPS installed in my Jeep which are made by Navteq.  There are only two things that I have an issue with.  You will need to go to Settings to make the iPhone never sleep, this means you will have to remember to log the iPhone after each use.  When a call comes in you need to reselect where you want to go, it doesn’t ask if you would want to continue on to the last location entered when you click back on to G-Map.  Not a big deal, and these are small things.  A lot of people have also made the comment that it doesn’t talk to you.  For me, I turn that off in my Jeep’s GPS anyway, too distracting.  It is enough I have my radio on.  All in all, this is a great App…and one for $20.00; very much worth it if you want a basic GPS.

When downloading, make sure you select your correct location, West version or East version.  Below is the decription of both and what cities it supports.
