Subscribing to a Google calendar in iCal (10.6)

gmail, Google, Mac OS X, Snow Leopard | 1 Comment »

exchange_ical_icon_20090824I installed Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6) the other day and have had very good luck.  I’ve been also digging in to some of the undocumented features and came upon this little trick by accident.  Ever want to add your google calendar to iCal.  I’m not talking about syncing, I am talking about physically adding it to your iCal.  Well here is what you do to get your google calendar in to iCal.  The steps are very straight forward but you have to be running Snow Leopard.

1. Open iCal
2. Goto iCal-> Preferences…
pref
3. Click on the “+” at the bottom of the window.

4.  You will get a box where you will select “google” from the pull down menu
Google Selection
5. Enter your Gmail information and click “create”
Google info
6. That should be it, you will now see your Google Calendar in the left side of your iCal.  You will be able to create events, add attendees, and do everything you do now inside iCal.
