AT&T ‘Mark the Spot’ app – Get peace of mind that you are being heard!

App Store, Apple, AT&T, iPhone | 2 Comments »

Yesterday AT&T released and iPhone app (iTunes link) that lets customers tell them where they drop calls and experience other general network failures.  The app, named ‘Mark the Spot’, allows you to choose what kind of failures the iPhone is having and lets you plot against frequency of the outage.  ’Mark the Spot’ is location aware or you can choose a location manual since obviously if you have no signal you can’t send out an issue report.

Thank god they are finally listening at this point.  I have a friend that has been dropping calls for the last 3 or 4 months and he has his own Agent assigned to him from AT&T.  I told him about ‘Mark the Spot’, he downloaded it right way and started submitting.

iPhone accessories now prompt for download

App Store, Apple, iPhone, ipod touch | 1 Comment »

accessory-app-download-smAccording to iLounge, Apple has begun to allow Made For iPodand Works With iPhone-certified developers to include automatic application download prompts.  If the devices are connected to the Internet via Wifi, the user can just plug in the accessory, then it will startup the App Store to download the necessary software to get the devices to work.

This feature was introduced in iPhone OS 3.0 but this is the first time iLounge has seen it in action.  Below is taken from iLounge; the steps of installation of the Griffin iTrip Controller in screenshots.

Apple’s MobileMe iDisk App Released…

App Store, iPhone, ipod touch | 1 Comment »

iphone-icon-idisk-20090608… View and share files on your iDisk from your iPhone.  Apple, Inc. has finally released their official MobileMe iDisk app in the App Store.  This app is so useful and the perfect companion for all of you trying to make use of your MobileMe iDisk while on-the-go.  I love this since I keep a lot of my transported files up on iDisk.

Now you have another, more convenient way to get to your iDisk — the iDisk app for iPhone and iPod touch. Free for MobileMe members, the iDisk app lets you view files on your iDisk right on your iPhone or iPod touch. Any recently viewed file doesn’t need to be loaded again. And if you want to share a file, the iDisk app lets you do that, too. Just tap the Share button, choose your recipients, and iDisk sends them an email with a link to download your file.

The app is extremely simple and straight-forward.  Just launch the app and you will be prompted to enter your username and password.  Once logged in you will see a list of all of the folders and files on your iDisk.  You can then view those files or share them with others.

MobileMe iDisk supports all kinds of file types, including iWork, Office, PDF, Quicktime, and more.  Files larger than 20MB may not be viewable.  The app also requires iPhone OS 3.0 or later.
